Rescuing Jodhpur’s Beggers: The Gavya Foundation 2021 mission

The Gavya Foundation, a non-profit organization, recognized the dire situation of beggars in the city of Jodhpur and decided to take action in 2021. They began by collecting data from various government offices such as the municipal corporation and samaj kalyan vibhag, hoping to get an accurate count of the beggars living on footpaths. However, despite their efforts, they were told that the offices did not have this information. Undeterred, the foundation took matters into their own hands and conducted their own survey. To their dismay, they found that there were approximately 4,000 people who had resorted to begging for survival in the city. This revelation only strengthened their determination to uplift these individuals and provide them with a better future. Through their dedicated efforts and initiatives, the Gavya Foundation aims to make a positive impact in the lives of these beggars and bring about meaningful change in Jodhpur.
